Tab Resize is a free Google Chrome extension that allows you to do multi-tasking in the browser. That means you can manage your work in different tabs simultaneously without switching from one tab to another. Normally, when we take information from different websites, watch a video, do Facebook, we always have to leave the current tab and switch to another tab for doing some other task. You can avoid this by using this Chrome extension with which you can manage what is happening in each tab on just one screen.
This extension does so by providing preset grids having different rows and columns for tabs. The best part is that you can create custom rows and columns and create your personalized grid.
Let’s see how this works.
INSTALLATION:
When you will reach the extension homepage, you can click on the option “Add to Chrome” to install Tab Resize on Google Chrome. It will be very quick and after that, you can see a small icon on the top right corner next to the address bar. It will be like an arrow diagonally placed pointing both the directions highlighted in red on the screenshot below:
HOW TO USE:
Now, after installing it, open up tabs in Chrome. Lets start with two tabs. Once you have two tabs in Chrome, click on extension icon and you will see options shown below. You will see grids with different sizes like 2 by 1, 1 by 2, etc.
It will be little confusing in the starting but believe me, this is how it is made. Now very important, to split the tabs, you can select Left Align option or Right Align option. If there are no tabs on the right/left side, it will create new tabs and split them according to the grid you have chosen.
You can also customize the splitting by creating a custom grid using PLUS sign. You can set the number of rows and columns as per the need of you.
Overall, this extension can be very useful in doing multi-tasking but sometimes it might hang the browser or crash it depending on how you are using it.
