WhatsApp is the choice of billions (I’m one of them) and it has earned so much love because of its simplicity and dozens of interesting features. Whether I talk about sending video as animated GIF, new secret font, video calling, etc., WhatsApp team always listen to its users and present them what they want or wish. With time to time updates, WhatsApp has gifted beneficial features. Earlier, people were desperately waiting for sending GIFs from their WhatsApp account and that wish was fullfilled by WhatsApp in its previous public update. Taking this feature a step ahead, WhatsApp is integrating with GIPHY to search and send aimated GIFs using WhatsApp.
GIPHY also lets you import Vine videos as animated GIFs. This time, WhasApp and GIPHY have come together to let users search interesting GIFs within WhatsApp and send any GIF to a contact or WhatsApp group.
Look at that screenshot posted above. There is a GIF icon at the bottom and a Search icon at the bottom left corner visible on WhatsApp. That simply means you can search and send animated GIFs directly from WhatsApp.
Let’s See How To Search and Share GIPHY GIFs Using WhatsApp:
Before you rush to Play Store and check if any WhatsApp update related to this feature is available or not, there are some points related to this feature.
This feature is available in beta version of WhatsApp. That means it is not released publicly yet. Still, it is possible and very easy to use this feature. You have to become a WhatsApp beta tester to use this feature. Once you have joined beta program of WhatsApp, you can update your WhatsApp. This feature is now available with the stable version of WhatsApp and anyone can use it. After that:
1). Open WhatsApp and click that Emoji icon.
2). Now what you will notice is that a GIF icon is visible at the bottom (same as pointed in the screenshot above).
3). Click that GIF icon and this is it! Now you are in the animated GIF section. You will see a lot of interesting GIFs (available on GIPHY) within your WhatsApp chat. You can scroll down to find more and more GIFs.
4). You can also search GIFs by using custom keywords. You will see a Search icon at the bottom left corner on WhatsApp. Use that icon and enter keywords. It will provide GIFs suggestions based on the keywords.
Choose any GIF and share it.
Other WhatsApp users don’t have to join beta program to view GIFs shared by you. But yes, if you and anyone else want to send GIPHY GIFs directly from WhatsApp, then you must be a beta tester for now. This feature will come in future updates of WhatsApp, but if you can’t wait, just join the beta program.
