Google Chrome is the most popular browser and it has earned this place because of its features. It is fast, convenient, and whatever users need is provided by it. Even if some feature is not available in Chrome, that space is fulfilled by Chrome extensions. The same is the case for managing the volume level of tabs in Google Chrome. Natively, Chrome doesn’t come with any option to adjust the volume of Chrome tabs separately. But, this can be done very easily using a free extension “Volume Master“.
Volume Master Chrome extension lets you set separate volume level for each individual tab. For example, you can set 30% volume level for one tab, 50% for another, 80% for 3rd tab, etc. This way, you will have control on the volume of every single tab in Google Chrome. When you need some tab to play high volume, simply use this extension and increase the volume level. For other tabs, you can decrease or increase volume based on your requirements.
This extension lets you set volume level between 0-600%. That is an awesome feature of this extension. While normally, we can set volume for Chrome browser maximum 100%, this extension lets you increase volume beyond that limit.
Some more useful features are provided by this Volume Master Chrome extension:
- It shows the list of all those tabs which are currently playing audio.
- You can switch to a specific tab, which is playing audio, in just a click using this extension.
- Normally, if a tab is playing audio, the default volume icon is visible on the tab. This tab replaces that volume icon with its own icon. That indicates those are the specific tabs whose volume is adjusted by you using this extension.
Steps To Adjust Volume of Chrome Tabs Separately Using Volume Master Extension:
Everything is extremely simple. This extension doesn’t come with any Options page. That simply means there is nothing to configure. Open its homepage and then install it on your Chrome browser. For your convenience, its homepage link is added at the end of this review.
When Volume Master is installed, click its extension icon. It will open a pop-up. There you will see a slider and the list of tabs which are currently playing audio. If you haven’t played any video or audio, just open some tabs and play audio. After that, you can see the list of audible tabs on its pop-up.
To adjust the volume level of a specific tab, first go to that tab, and then press the extension icon. When its pop-is opened, use the volume slider to increase/decrease the volume. Similarly, you can adjust volume level for other tabs.
This is it! Now all those tabs will play audio as per the limit set by you.
Whenever you have to adjust volume for some tab again, use the same pop-up. If you have to switch to a specific audible tab quickly, you can use the pop-up to see the list of audio playing tabs and then click on any tab. It will immediately move you from the current tab to that specific tab.
