EmailThis is a free service to save any webpage or article to read it later directly from your email account. You must be wondering how it is different from the very popular Instapaper and other services. Well, the same question came in my mind before testing this service. However, what I come to know is that Instapaper needs its own account and apps to access all the content saved by you. On the other hand, EmailThis service helps you read any saved webpage or article within your email account. No matter if you are using Gmail, Outlook, or some other email service, you will be able to read the content of saved article or webpage from your email account. This service works using your email address and the bookmarklet provided by it. You can add its bookmarklet on the bookmarks bar of your web browser and then use that bookmarklet to save a webpage or article. After that, it sends an email to your registered email address for the sent article. This is it! You can open that email to read the article within your email account, without accessing its source location.
The second best part is that you will be able to read article/webpage without ads and other unnecessary stuff. Only the text content, images related to the article, and links present in the article will visible to you. Thus, only the relevant content that matters to you will be presented. Also, if for any reason, the article is not visible or it needs login to the original source, then you don’t have to panic. The original link of the article/webpage is also provided by this service in the email. You can see the link of the original article at the bottom of that email and click that link to open the article.
This service works on all the browsers as well as on smartphones.
Above you can see a sample. I sent one of our articles (unlimited cloud storage space) using the bookmarklet of this service and here is the content of that article visible in the email.
Now let’s see how to use this service.
To read articles or any other webpage directly from your email account, what you need to do is open the homepage of this service and enter your email address in the given field. Once done, tap on that Install the Bookmarklet button.
Now open your email account and verify your email address using the link you received in the verification email. As soon as you verify your email address, this ensures that you want to read any saved article or webpage directly from your email address. After confirmation, a new webpage will open prompting you to install the bookmarklet of this service. What you have to do is drag the Email This button and drop it to the Bookmarks bar of your browser. Not to mention that if bookmarks bar is hidden, then you have to show it first to add the bookmarklet.
Now everthing is ready. The next time when you find some interesting article, instead of bookmarking it or taking the screenshot, you can tap on EmailThis bookmarklet. After that, you will receive an email from EmailThis bot in your registered email address. Open that email and read the article. As simple as that.
This is quite an interesting service and I enjoyed a lot during the testing. I’m gonna use it daily as I have to save too many webpages. It will save my bookmarks bar space as well as help me provide only the meaningful content. Go ahead and try it.
