Sometimes, you might have felt the need to change created, last accessed, or modified date of some files and folders. There are many free timestamp changer software also available for this purpose. However, not all the timestamp changer software are as good as “BulkFileChanger“. This is a really powerful software that lets you bulk change created, modified and last accessed dates of files and folders of your choice. You can first create the list of files and folders on its interface and then change their timestamps.
One of the best features of this software is you have the choice to edit only created date, modified date, or last accessed dates of input items. You can also change timestamps of all items or only selected files and folders. This BulkFileChanger software is absolutely free to use and works on all versions of Windows (Windows 10, 8.1, 7, etc.).
One more feature that makes it awesome is you can compare before and after changes in timestamps. For that, you can export the list of files and folders before and after applying the changes and then compare them manually. The list can be exported as HTML, Tabular Text file, XML, CSV, etc.
Steps To Change Created, Last Accessed, and Modified Dates of Files and Folders Using BulkFileChanger:
1). Grab the zip archive of this BulkFileChanger software. Link to that archive is added at the end of this review. Extract that archive and a portable ‘BulkFileChanger‘ application will visible. Execute that application and its interface will open.
2). Add files and folders of your choice on the interface of this timestamp changer software. There are multiple ways to do this. You can:
- Drag n drop selected files and folders.
- Use File menu and then select Add Files option.
- Use File menu and add files using a wildcard (or rule).
For each individual file and folder, it shows the name, created date, modified date, accessed date, file size, full path and other information, which is very helpful.
If some files are added by mistake, you can also remove them from the list. Also, if you want to export the list of input files, then you can use File menu and select Export selected items option. This will be useful when you need to check original and output timestamps.
3). When input items are added, select all of them using ‘Ctrl+A‘ hotkey or select files and folders of your choice. After that, click the ‘Change Time / Attributes‘ icon.
4). A new window will open just like you can see in the image below. In that window, you will see Created, Modified, and Accessed options for file Date and Time. You can select any of these options and set date and time using the available parameters. You can also select a file from PC, using Fill Date / Time From File button, to use created, modified, and last accessed dates of that particular file.
5). When you have set timestamps, hit the Do It button. This will instantly change file timestamps based on the selected options.
That’s it! A straightforward solution to bulk change timestamps of files and folders.
After changing the timestamps, you can again export the list of files and folders and then compare them with the original timestamps.
